A bit of nativity fun

I love creating fun visuals but this one was a little unusual for me, the client, well, it was..... me. I decided it would be really nice to create a short animation for the Christmas festivities. I worked many late evenings to get this one finished and it truly was a labour of love.

The concept was akin to a mechanical jewellary box or traditional toy. I decided it would be fun to create a mechanised sequence that concludes with the unveiling of the nativity crib. In actual fact, the mechanism really would work, I designed it so that it could be created real world and all of the gears and cogs actually work correctly. At some point in the future I would love to get the elements 3D printed and put it together for real so, watch this space....
